Jessica Fancy is the Member of Parliament for South Shore—St. Margarets in beautiful Nova Scotia.
Born and raised on a mushroom farm in Caledonia, Queens County, Jessica has deep roots in the region. She spent more than 20 years as an educator, shaping the lives of countless young people in her community. Along the way, she earned two Master of Education degrees from Memorial University — one in Curriculum and Instruction, and the other in Educational Leadership.
Jessica was first elected in 2025, securing nearly 55% of the vote. Though she had no prior political experience, her longstanding leadership in the riding made her a familiar and trusted voice. She has coached local youth sports, led the Rural Communities Foundation of Nova Scotia, and worked tirelessly to direct millions of dollars in investments toward community initiatives. Her advocacy has focused on addressing food insecurity, strengthening education, and promoting environmental sustainability.
In Ottawa, Jessica brings that same community-first approach to her role as Vice Chair of the Rural Caucus and as a member of the Standing Committee on Human Resources, Skills and Social Development, and the Status of Persons with Disabilities.
Through it all, Jessica remains guided by the values she learned growing up in a small town — hard work, service, and the belief that rural communities like South Shore—St. Margarets can help lead Canada’s future.
